New babies

Three little Dunnocks (hedge sparrows) brought in this morning. The nest was found with 5 babies in it but unfortunately, two were already dead. The other three came in first thing this morning, little nestlings. They all seem ok and are eating well. If they survive until tomorrow, I will put them on the cam.

  1. Many thanks for taking the little birds this morning. It was great to see them feed so quickly, they must have been hungry.
It was last night that I got a desperate call from a friend as she had just found the complete nest plus three babies at the back door, there were two dead ones as well. They have just adopted a new cat and it seems he may be the culprit. Amazing that he managed to pull the nest out in one piece.
I collected the three and kept them warm above the Aga. Hope they are still okay.
    Best wishes
    David
