We have set up this blog to enable us to update everyone as to what is happening at the Haven daily, to keep a diary of our comings and goings. We do hope that you enjoy it and that you will join in, adding your comments as we go along.
Feel free to visit our website too using the link below, and look at the cam which will be showing our latest "stars"
The Wing and a Prayer Wild Bird and Owl Haven is a non-profit, independent sanctuary for wildlife based in Norfolk, UK.and is run by a charitable Association and staffed by volunteers. We receive no funding whatsoever and rely soley on the generosity of the public to continue our work.
Our sanctuary in Norfolk is home to many birds and owls. Fortunately a lot of the wild birds that come here, recover sufficiently to be released back into their natural habitat but inevitably, there are some that cannot be released. We aim to provide these birds and owls with a peaceful environment to live out their natural lives.
We also care for captive-bred, non-native and birds that are too tame to be released. Some are taken in when owners can no longer care for them, some have been badly treated.
All of the residents are housed in large aviaries where we provide them with food, shelter, medical attention if required and a quiet life. Some of the birds, especially the owls can live for many years in captivity.
Please feel free visit the site to get a fuller picture of what we do. Be sure to visit the web cam and see live and recorded footage of our various birds and owls.
